چکیده مقاله:

Generally, narcissus is propagated through vegetative methods, but due to their low yield their are not economical. This study was conducted to develop a suitable method for the production of somatic embryos and bulblets in Narcissus papyraceus cv. Shirazi. Bulb scales were placed on the MS medium supplemented with 2,4-D and BAP each at 0.0, 0.25, 0.5 or 1 mg/l concentrations to form somatic embryos (SEs). For proliferation, the bulblets were cut in small segments and placed on either MS medium supplemented with sucrose at 30, 60 or 90 g/l, kept in dark or light intensities of 54 or 108 μmol m-2 s-1 or the MS medium including Methyl jasmonate (Me JA), growth retardants Paclobutrazol or Cycocel (PBZ or CCC) each at 0.0, 0.5, 1.0 or 2.0 mg/l. The highest SE percentage (75 ± 9.0) was obtained when 1.0 mg/l 2,4-D and 0.5 mg/l BAP were incorporated into the medium. Using sucrose at 60 g/l under a light intensity of 54 μmol m-2 s-1 or utilizing 1.0 mg/l PBZ produced the greatest bulblet number (4.45 ± 0.51 and 5.0 ± 0.25, respectively). None of the scales produced bulblets in dark at any sucrose concentration.

Growth of Lily Bulblets In Vitro, a Review

In micropropagation of lily, preferably bulblets should be produced: Because bulblets are compact and robust, they are much easier to handle and to plant in soil than shoots. In this review, the various factors that determine bulblet growth in vitro are discussed. Gibberellins, jasmonates (JA) and abscisic acid (ABA) are the major identified plant growth regulators (PGRs) for storage organ form...

Somatic Embryogenesis and Plant Regeneration from Embryonic Axes and Cotyledons Explants of Tea (Camellia sinenesis L.)

In the present study, 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D) was assessed individually for its effectiveness to induce somatic embryogenesis in tea (Camellia sinenesis L.). Embryonic axes and cotyledons explants were dissected from the seeds. Explants were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium containing 0, 1 and 5 mM 2, 4-D alone for embryonic axes and 0, 1 and 5 mM 2, 4-D along with 0...

Background: Rosa centifoliais commercially propagated by asexual means but in vitro propagation ensure the production of disease free and healthy plants and browning of explants creates hurdle in their multiplication. Objectives: The aim was to reduce oxidative browning of shoots of R. centifolia in MS medium during in vitro propagation. Materials and Methods: Axillary buds of R. centifolia we...

Effects of salinity, temperature, light intensity and light regimes on production, growth and reproductive parameters of Apocyclops dengizicus

The effects of salinity, temperature, and light conditions on production and development, longevity, survival and sex ratios of the cyclopoid copepod, A. dengizicus were determined. Seven different salinity levels (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 psu), four temperatures (20, 25, 30, 35 °C), three different light intensities (33.3, 85.3, 162.1 μmol photons/ m2/ s) and light regimes (24:0, 0:24, and 12...
